HIGHWAYS US Route 34, Plano S&A was selected by IDOT to prepare the design study/project report for roadway, traffic, and drainage improvements along US Route 34 through Plano, a distance of 3.3 kilometers. The design study involved reviewing three-lane and four-lane roadway section alternatives. The project also included a complete topographic survey, three Intersection Design Studies, accident analysis, and preliminary right-of-way plans. All submittals for the project were made in accordance with FHWA and IDOT standards. Several alternative drainage routes utilizing adjacent and parallel streets were studied from both an economic and constructability aspect. Phasing of the storm sewer and roadway construction over different construction seasons and/or projects also were considered and evaluated. US Route 45 and Chandler Road, Rantoul
A major component of this project was the completion of two Intersection Design Studies. Plans were developed for a total of five intersections on US 45 and US Route 136, all of which were previously unsignalized. Special features of this project included raising the profile of Route 45 four feet at Chandler Road. This was done to enhance the profile of an adjacent railroad crossing. Also included was the replacement of an existing 20-foot span bridge and a railroad crossing. Several utility relocations and adjustments were made for this improvement project. During the design process, S&A excavated and determined the exact location of all existing utilities, as well as resolved any conflicts between existing and proposed utilities. Illinois Route 115, Ford County This IDOT project entails reconstructing and upgrading an existing two-lane State highway, Illinois Route 115, where drainage improvements are a prime concern. Project consists of preparing a project report studying drainage improvements and resurfacing or reconstruction from west of Pine Street to US24 in Piper City. The work includes data collection, cost estimates, traffic analysis, minor right-of-way work and all other work necessary to complete the project report. Illinois Highway One and Mill Street, Georgetown S&A will perform surveying, preliminary design and right-of-way tasks. The project will reconstruct an existing two-lane road to accommodate heavy truck traffic (80,000 pound wheel loads). Intersection improvements, including traffic signals, to Illinois Highway One and Mill Street are a part of this project. Previous Service | Next Service |
